So we have a pumped in the downstairs toilet (it's below the soil pipe outlet level). Over the weekend Nicky noticed leaking out of the top of the pump box so yesterday I set to fixing it.
I did the basic loosen everyting and tighten it all back up again but no joy. Hmmm… perhaps it's blocked inside and needs a clean (yuck).
Access was hard so I removed the cistern and accidently knocked the inlet water pipe off at below the isolation point level. So room now a covered in water and me drenched before I can get to the mains water stop tap.
Then with limited access I had trouble undoing the clips at the rear to remove the lid and .. they broke off. The lid flicks up discourging faeces around the small room. I'm now soaking and coverd in poop and not very happy.
After a quick clean up I cleaned all the seals and pipes as nest as I could and put it all back together, hoping the tight fit will ensure the broken clips are not an issue. I then cleaned up the room and tested it.
Fortunately it all worked ok and there seemed to be no leaks so I showered again then went and started rebasing my Neo Assyrians for FOG; that was much more fun!!
I still don't feel quite clean.
