Looks like another short stint for another interesting Joss Whedon show. Probably a mid season cancellation. |

Dude! I stopped watching last year. I never understood how that got picked up while Terminator:SCC got canceled. |

The pacing was terrible last year. It didn't help when Fox lead viewers to believe that the season finale was the same as that for The Sarah Connor Chronicles when it had 2 shows to go. |

Ratngs tend to plummet when no one watches the show. |

The wife even paused the "Echo in lingerie" shot for me. I have her trained well. |

It got renewed because Josh went to Fox and told them that he could do the next season for half the budget of the first season. And I don't think Dollhouse had a budget that was any bigger then Fox's standard action shows. Thus Fox get's a show with some established viewers that costs pretty much half what a replacement new show would cost. Pretty savvy move on Josh's part, but I didn't like the show in the first place, and I don't think that it is all that special. |

I never understood how that got picked up while Terminator:SCC got canceled. SCC was cancelled before the season ended. Dollhouse, on the other hand, was in a "maybe/maybe not" status at the end. Why? SCC had horrible ratings and Dollhouse merely had poor ratings. Josh converted the maybe into a renewal by promising lower costs. |

Who's Josh? A friend of Joss Whedon? 8)= |

FOX renewed the lackluster and mediocre Dollhouse partly because it felt guilty for canceling Firefly prematurely and wanted to make it up to Joss. Unfortunately the Dolls lack personality (no Buffy or Mal here), are very plastic, and the acting is, well, wooden. I'm a big Joss fan but he's missed it big time with Dollhouse. Eliza Dushku isn't a good leading actress and the supporting cast are all forgetable cookie cutter figures. |

Television execs are capable of feeling guilt? |

Yes, about lack of profit. |

the only reason I didn't miss the season openeer was because my DVR was stil lset to record it from last season. I saw no commercials for it at all before the first episode aired. |

Yeah, I gotta agree with WW2Fanatik. TSCC was a better show overall, but more expensive to produce, and Josh Freidman was a bit of a lesser showrunner than Joss Whedon. Not to mention Joss had a marker with Fox over Firefly. I gave Dollhouse a chance last season, but Eliza Dushku isn't a leading actress, she's a supporting actress (she was good as Faith in BtVS)..but this, not so much. |

Didn't care for either TSCC or Dollhouse – not much of a pull in there. Firefly – that pulled me in from the first episode and I have been a fanatic since then. I'd even watch it now with Wash gone, the preacher dead, and a new series of adventures. Of course, the major mystery of the show is now broken open with Serenity the movie, but I'm sure Joss could put together more bits and pieces for the show and more stuff to reveal to make it still as good as it was. Maybe not. |

I loved Firefly and Buffy but I just couldn't get into Dollhouse at all – it was boring. I wont miss it when they cancel it. |

I for one like Dollhouse, I think the concept is interesting. My wife loves it. I think Dollhouse would do a million times better if it wasn't on a Friday :P |
