Disclaimer: NO, I don't watch JJ by choice, my wife likes to watch it when she comes home from work and it's one of those shows I don't mind watching w/her while eating, clipping counters, etc
I'm amazed at the number of people who are on the show, who have never watched the darn thing
how'd they end up on the program? A relative told them? But the Fun Fact is
if you're the defendant and Judge Judy is either not hassling you too much OR is giving the "other guy" a tonne of
le crapola
then SHUT UP, Stupid
you're winning! How many times have we seen this, the person has the judge on their side, they're winning and they just keep babbling away until JJ loses her cool and either tosses them out or allows the "plaintiff" to win. How dumb can you get? (Don't answer that
: ) ! |

They think that if they are on a TV show that they must do something. Or, they are really stupid. |

:) That's a good rule. I used to watch Judge Wapner, he almost always sided with who ever had documentation. Bring in a folder with a few papers in it and you win. |

All very good advice, be honest, respectful, quiet and dress like you mean it (AND bring receipts or pics) and you generally do quite well! THOUGH
we have all seen those shows where she's in a mood/rage and no one escapes her Rath of Bacon! |

you're winning! I am a big Judge Judy fan and watch her twice an evening when stuck on a dialysis machine and not able to do much else but watch the boob tube (reading is difficult as one arm is completely immobile – try reading with one hand only – arrrrgh!) and I have to disagree with you, Andrew. While what you say is often the case, I've frequently seen her whale on a defendant or plaintiff mercilessly ("you think you're smarter than me?") but had to say "unfortunately
". And she is always threatening to throw people out and often says, "your case is dismissed, do you understand?" in response to some moron who doesn't shut up, but nearly always comes back and says "you get one last chance". She's the greatest. -- Tim |

she did that yesterday as a matter of fact, when she (easily) discovered the plaintiffs were trying to get much more than their (legitimate) claim, but the one lady wouldn't shut up
so she dismissed her case (only to relent a bit later and give her a small portion of her claim, due to the attitude of the defendant). I don't think I stated it to be "always" a fact, but you can tell when a defendant (or plaintiff) is a JJ watcher
if their claim is legit, they quickly gage which way the wind is blowing and act accordingly
almost always to their benefit. It's the idiots who have never seen her in action that don't know she's on their side (unless/until proven wrong) and can't shut up
they usually get their butts handed to them! She's okay in my book though
her show's a lot better than 95% of the other drek my wife watches (and which I refuse to). |

but you can tell when a defendant (or plaintiff) is a JJ watcher Yup. My dad is a former supreme court judge (Canada) and while he doesn't watch TV, every now and then when he's over with me, he catches a bit of it and is always fascinated. He thinks she's great! -- Tim |

Less fun than I'd anticipated. |
