WHEW! I am glad he did not get a chance to ruin Superman.

I present you Tim Burton's Superman /w a Nick Cage as the Caped Crusader test shot.

As someone who read Superman comics in the 90s, I can see where they got some of the inspiration (long hair, huge crest).

But even when he was rumoured to play the Big Boy Scout, Cage just didn't seem the type.

I think Tim Burton was acting out on his action figure fetish.
Or maybe Burton was going to set it in the Duracell "plastic people" universe of the Puttermans.

I love the expression on Cage's face. "Am I being paid enough for this °$*£§% ?

From what I've read there was a certain amount of Superman hate fueling some of their design/script/casting decisions.

Cage doesn't seem really fit for any part. Maybe a zombie extra?

nycjadie23 Sep 2009 6:13 a.m. PST

If Superman was an skinny aging not-so-attractive alcoholic with bad hair, then Cage would be great for part.

It's like Leaving Las Vegas meets Edward Scissorhands.

He looks like he's about to lead a parade down Castro Street.

It would have been one where I would have been happy when they used the line "Truth, justice, and all that other stuff".

How can you tell? It appears to be the same expression he wears in every scene of every movie he's ever appeared in.

He looked very happy in a few scenes in Ghost Rider.

I think that was just the special effects.

Dang, we missed out on Helena Bonham Carter as Lois Lane!

Looks like a bad cosplay picture.
