Yep, interrupted the acceptance speech of Taylor Swift at the MTV awards after she won "best female performance" or something. Man, he's nothing but a sorry sack of you-no-what. That girl is 17! Stay classy, Kayne.

YouTube link

And when Beyonce Knowles later won Video of the Year, instead of giving the usual acceptance speech, she called Taylor out to the stage to let the teenager give her interrupted speech. Total class.

Normally?
Don't know, Don't care.
But:
Credit where Credit due;

Kudos to Beyonce, that was classy
and I'm glad the lass had her moment-

{EDIT}
So Kayne actually stormed the stage, and took the mike away..?

I thought he was the presenter or something;
What a Bleeped text!

Listen…I can't stand Country/Western music…I mean I hate it (and rap for that matter)…but a (seemingly) nice young lady wins an award from her peers and this…insert your favorite adjective laced with profanities here…does something that was completely tasteless and beyond rude.

Jerk…

nycjadie14 Sep 2009 6:37 a.m. PST

If you ever listen to one of Kanye's albums, you will understand what a complete and utter dope he is. He also thinks he's a genius. There's nothing more dangerous than a stupid person who thinks they are smart.

Not a scene I follow very often but by all measures, Kanye is a major league anal orifice.

nazrat14 Sep 2009 7:02 a.m. PST

"Stay classy, Kanye."

To stay that way he'd have to have been so at least once, and he hasn't…

Another example of bad trash being paid way too much to inflict themselves on the public!

Yes, Bouncy is classy.

EDIT:
This is more complete, and comes from the ***OFFICIAL**** MTV site.

Still, you can't help but think that MTV loves this kind of controversy. They're nuts, and publicity hungry.
And, who was the Lion Queen in the audience? Weird people… I'm glad I watched da Bears and da Packers instead.

jpattern214 Sep 2009 7:26 a.m. PST

Kanye's an ass. Always has been, always will be.

Beyonce definitely showed true class.

On some other sites a few posters (VERY few, thankfully) are supporting Kanye, saying things like, "I thought this was a free country," and, "Whatever happened to freedom of speech?" I can only hope that those posters are still in middle school.

Taylor should have slapped him…

Taylor should have slapped him…

Probably for the best she didn't .. God only knows how he would have reacted to that

Beyonce was a class act though. I'm not a big fan of her music but I have a lot more respect for her than I did before this happened.

Now lets see MTV show a little class and ban Kanye from the awards ceremony for life … they won't sadly

"Now lets see MTV show a little class…"

The train left that station long ago. I don't understand why anyone would have wanted to watch that awards show, judging by the videos and photos today. Nothing but a circus, and a sad one at that.

Head on over to Michelle Malkin's site, and see what her readers (the great Amerikan public) have to say about Mr. West.

I did, and read about 50 comments without finding anything objectionable.

"There is no such thing as bad publicity except your own obituary."

-Brendan Behan

Whether it was staged (as some are now saying) or not, MTV loves the attention they are getting. When was the last time MTV or Kanye were mentioned (of all places) on TMP?

Plus, he had a point (rudely made, nonetheless). Beyonce had the better video.

Haven't watched MTV since the Martha Quinn days …

Oddball14 Sep 2009 1:23 p.m. PST

I guess the quote from Martin Luther King Jr. about judging a man "by the content of their character" would apply here to Mr. Kanye West.

I'd never heard of the Kanye West before, but I've got a pretty good idea of his stick for show business attention now.

Nice photo of him with the bottle of booze on the red carpet.

Cyrus the Great14 Sep 2009 3:50 p.m. PST

This is pretty good:
Pink said of West: "I just think he's an idiot, he's just a waste. He's just a tool box.

"He's getting exactly what he wants right now, people are talking about him," Pink added before blowing a Bronx cheer and waving her hand dismissively.

Pink also said West wouldn't have dared pull his stage-hogging antics if she was the one being honored. "It was the one time I really, really wish I would have won because I had this really amazing Alexander McQueen purse with brass knuckles on it," she said.

"I honestly don't think it would have happened if I were up there.

The Hobbybox14 Sep 2009 4:02 p.m. PST

lol, I like Pink! Would have been fun to watch her kick his ass!

Kanye is a total jerk.

Whilst I'm not into Taylor Swift's music, I've caught a couple of her performances whilst channel hopping, and caught an interview with her on Radio 1 driving back from a wargames show earlier this year. Very nice young lass, quite witty, talented musician.

She's also not a bad actress judging by the guest slot she did in CSI Vegas not long ago.

Why is MTV still doing music awards? Isn't that like Syfy hosting the Nebula awards?

To quote a "Great American":

"(Kanye) West is the ULTIMATE pinhead".

I echo that statement, along with some other choice adjectives and opinions not permitted here on this fine forum.

Tom Bryant14 Sep 2009 10:16 p.m. PST

All I can say to Kanye is:

"You go GURL!"

My word what a pile of fecal matter! I can't believe this press hungry imbecile. Beyonce showed true class in letting Ms. Swift finish her speech. Kanye, you are yet one more reason why I despise rap, hip-hop and "contemporary" R&B. You sir are true and talentless slime.

Inkpaduta15 Sep 2009 5:55 a.m. PST

Frankly, I think West has some mental issues. There is something just not right there.

richarDISNEY15 Sep 2009 7:45 a.m. PST

I think he issued an apology on his blog…. WITH CAP LOCK ON!!!! laugh

I watched his 'appology' on Jay Leno last night, and…, well…, it really didn't feel like he meant it.

What a fool…

Hi

I don't know. Was this a set up? I mean, every concert I know of for the last 30 years has security to keep people from rushing on stage. No security?

Ditto Tango 2 115 Sep 2009 5:06 p.m. PST

I felt the same as you folks but did anyone see Jay Leno last night? West appeared and gave an unplanned (or so Mr Leno said) interview before a performance and seemed sincerely contrite about it. More cynical folks might choose the word "fooled" but I was impressed, I must say.

Any idiot can make an ass of himself as was done Sunday, but it takes a higher calibre person to admit he was an idiot and express exactly what everyone was concerned about, the hurt feelings of the country kid he upstaged.

I think he showed that he is deserving of forgiveness.

XRaysVision15 Sep 2009 5:40 p.m. PST

Since when does saying, "I'm sorry" provide absolution? You've got to be kidding me. The *outburst* was a well planned upstaging to get the spotlight. It worked. I mean, we're all talking about it, aren't we? You can pin this one up on the wall of shame along with R Kelly's video and the infamous wardrobe malfunction as successful media snatching ploys.

Ditto Tango 2 116 Sep 2009 12:01 a.m. PST

Since when does saying, "I'm sorry" provide absolution? You've got to be kidding me.

So you're telling me a child who makes a mistake is never forgiven?

An employee who Bleeped texts up is always auto-fired?

A presenter who says something that is taken out of context loses all credibility?

An argument with a spouse leads to saying something hurtful can never be forgiven?

Wow. I didn't realize the world was so black and white… Thanks for setting me straight on all the above. grin Those Christians are totally out to lunch with that stupid concept of forgiveness…

I never considered it a media snatching ploy – it could well have been one, but, hey, the guy can still be genuinely sorry for it.

Oddball16 Sep 2009 7:46 a.m. PST

I was always taught there were three steps to saying sorry.

1) Say you are sorry
2) State that it will not happen again

and most important

3) How can I correct what I have done wrong

Too many people just follow the first and think everything is fine after that.
