I can see Tripod as Kane.

What? These guys? Taking turns? Could be fun.

Now that we've heard Purefoy's actual voice, any comments on the accent? That shouldn't be a hard one to place; it's one that came across to the New World, too.

I would still like to see an actor with a more angular face for Kane, but he will do. I think the film is likely to capture the look and feel pretty well.

I hope that the planned trilogy will use more of the original stories. They're good; don't need to write new plots. Same for the Dark Horse comic series. REH knew aht he was doing.

I believe John was referring to a different Purefoy character (Note: NSFW!):

The actors were not signed to do all three films, so don't expect a sequel anytime soon.

I am glad to see this film completing its journey and I hope it does well as I know it had a tremendously difficult time getting made and then also seeing itself completed.

My friends & I had a discussion about the setting & character of Kane. The descption says 16th century, but Kane has always been described as a Puritan.

Maybe because I associate Puritans with the Mayflower & Cromwell, I assumed Kane was set in the 17th century. But a quick check shows that Puritanism started in the mid-16th century, so Kane's timeframe still could be correct.

Anyone know if REH specifically put him in the 1500s?

Also, the trailer looks to be distinctly not based on the books, especially since the majority of stories were actually based in Africa. It does still look like a good story though.

Thanks AE, I tried to find something like this, but obviously couldn't.

Looks pretty cool. I hope it's good. At the very least it WON'T be Van Helsing and that's a great thing!

It looks like another Kull the Conqueror to me.
