Really?

kyoteblue08 Sep 2009 3:06 p.m. PST

maybe….

Neotacha08 Sep 2009 3:14 p.m. PST

Nope. Sometimes the customer is a whiny, spoiled jerk who is trying to get something for nothing.

I'd guess the better ratio is half the time the customer is right, and the other the retailer/service provider is right.

GoodBye08 Sep 2009 3:29 p.m. PST

No, sometimes the customer needs to be sent to their room without dinner!

Cosmic Reset08 Sep 2009 3:54 p.m. PST

Then why was he trying to return a remote control airplane that we didn't sell?

Cincinnatus08 Sep 2009 4:13 p.m. PST

Depends on the customer. A profitable one is always right. One that you have to scratch to make any money on is probably not only wrong but better off with your competitor.

Not always.
Not every customer is one worth having either.
Some are worth inflicting on your competition.

When I was in retail, it was as a Security Manager. My customers were shoplifters, so they were not always right.
However, I may be a bit prejudiced.

I worked at one tech job, and after a caller asked/demanded the impossible, I would say, this aint burger king and you cant have it your own way.

Its a good thing I am a tech and not a salesman

Only in their own minds…

Neotacha is the winner!

I was told once that the customer may not always be right but they are always the customer.

adub7409 Sep 2009 7:39 a.m. PST

Thank you.

I was told once that the customer may not always be right but they are always the customer.

I have a friend who says that all the time.

Then why was he trying to return a remote control airplane that we didn't sell?

In that circumstance, he's not a customer— he's a crook, or he's confused. Assume the latter until you can determine the former.

GypsyComet09 Sep 2009 8:16 a.m. PST

The customer is always right, but not everyone who walks through your door is a customer.

I work in tech support…what do YOU think?

That is the joy of owning your own business. You get to pick and choose your 'customers'.
