Heroscape: Road to the Forgotten Forest

It's a terrain expansion for Heroscape, but will non-Heroscape gamers be attracted by the trees?

Well, here it is, the end of the Labor Day weekend and the unofficial end of summer. Now, up north, I don't believe they've had a summer yet, right? evil grin

Ah well, y'all didn't miss much, unless you guys are into 100°F+ temperatures with heat indexes a tenth hotter, stiffling, windless nights, electric bills into the hundreds of dollars, sunburns, heat stroke, overheated radiators, and other maladies related to summer weather. Nah, y'all didn't miss that….

…or did y'all?

You are right, Saginaw. We only had 2 weekends of hot weather in the Chicago area. One was over Father's Day weekend in June and the other was early August, IIRC. Fourth of July (normally 90°F and humid) barely reached 80°F.

This weekend was pleasant, but not anywhere near Summer Hot.

I was really disappointed. I like my summers hot and winters cold, otherwise why bother having them.

Any idea what kind of a winter the weatherboys are predicting for up north?

kidbananas07 Sep 2009 8:00 p.m. PST

They are saying mild and warm. Believe that when I see it.

Up North, June was hot and dry, July was really, really wet, and August was normal.

We ended the summer by hitting a deer last night about 90 miles away from home. Well, I didn't hit it, my father-in-law did and it totaled the front end. It made for a VERY long night and trip back home from the family reunion.

Well I was lucky to spend just over three weeks in Florida during August so I feel that I have had a summer (boy was it hot and humid in Florida) – getting back to the UK it sure feels cold here…so I think that was our summer gone as well.

Kev.

Jeez, nycjadie! Hopefully you two are alright.

Kev, cold and cloudy? Sounds like a winner of a day to me. wink

Our summer has been a few degrees cooler than average and a few inches wetter than average, but well within the established normal ranges for this area. My vegetable garden has never done better, so I have no complaints. I'm expecting winter to be about the same, a few degrees cooler, earlier maybe, and more rain, but not a lot more.

Everyone OK, Steve? Well, except the deer, of course.

Long hot summer locally. A bit hotter than usual.

As CLDISME says, it was mild to cool here in the Chicago area. Since our winters are so miserable, I really have come to appreciate scorching hot summers. Wish we had one.
