Can anyone recommend an online provider of Asian, in particular Chinese and Thai ingredients? I just picked up a cookbook that makes me salivate and want to try my hand at some of the more exotic dishes. Waco just doesn't have that big of an Asian market, or maybe it does and I have not discovered it.

Austin is down the road so if you know of a place there let me know.

Thanks in advance.

Try Killeen. There were good Asian markets when we left in 1985. Should still be plenty, with the military population.

I just ordered from importfood.com today. It's my first order, though. Amazon has a lot of the standard stuff as well.

I know where you are coming from = once you have had the real things Asian food found in "American" restaurants is so bland.

Have also heard that Houston has one of the largest, by population, Chinatowns in the US . Their wholesalers probably deliver to local stores and restaurants all across the region. Suggest you check with your local Asian stores to see if you can get things added to their orders. I know that they will be flattered that a local is so interested in their cuisine.

Thanks all for the links. Looks like MT Supermarket in Austin may be on my to do list. I may be going down there in a couple of weeks for a FOG boot/sandal camp. I may have to stop off on the drive back.
