Wife called me when driving home. Traffic is backed up for miles. Moves forward occasionally -- 3-4 car lengths, then . . . She has about a mile to go to our turn off.

As my office is right on this road I can see first hand! Trouble is I have about 7 miles to get to where she is -- Unbelievable!

There IS only one way home.

First time this has happened. This sucks!

what to do?

Division or the Interstate?

If you turn the opposite way than you normally turn when leaving work, and drive for about 25,000 miles, you should get home. It may be your best option!

We have the same problem on the street where I live…we are two streets away from the freeway and people don't want to use the first street, (because all the other geniuses have crowded that to bumper to bumper), so they all come roaring down my street, completely ignoring the fact that there are THREE signs that say "DEAD END" "NO THROUGH STREET", and you can EASILY SEE that the road doesn't go through.
They zip down to the end of the street to find out that "Dead End" REALLY MEANS "Dead End", and then they have to turn back around and they zip back. The looks on their faces are usually of anger, because they obviously thought that the street was a dead end for everyone but them….

We were third in line at the flagman this afternoon – had to wait just about the full 15 minutes for the Pilot car to come through, turn around, and then lead us through the road work (repaving).

The only thing that plugs up our highways are accidents, fortunately, though it's nice when the tourists leave.

What's a pilot car? Can you only go when you are behind it. We have traffic lights on our lane closures.

Surely it't cant be the ONLY way home- is there no other route?

Best argument this week for personal jet packs.
