. . . on a March to Washington, DC, so that we can eradicate this killer and crippler of young adults . . . Polio. Dammit. If it wasn't for FDR, I could have had a greater exposure to that disease, but at least that charity would never have come into existence. Looking after your fellow man just isn't natural. No wonder he's so universally hated by people who are in the habit of hanging on the every word of certain radio commentators, who were also saved by him. JW |

Huh?! It took me reading three times through this to understand the topic. The Rant part, I am still coming to grips with. I do not see where the vim and vitriol should be coming from. On the whole, this probably should be posted at the Blue Fez, because that is where it will go regardless of the intent. |

I have no problem with charitable organizations doing good in the world. More power to 'em! And I'm happy to support them when I'm able. But there's a huge non sequitur (more than one, actually) in the original rant. I'll leave others to think about what it might be. Here's a hint: B is a subset of A. B is also a subset of C. However, this does not mean that all other subsets of C are therefore subsets of A, much less that C itself is a subset of A. Nor does it mean that D, which is not a subset of C, is therefore not a subset of A. |

If that nosy fellow Jenner hadn't developed vaccination, there might be a whole lot fewer disagreeable people in the world today. |

Well, Charity is not charity when its forced. Then its robbery. |

At the very least it's an interesting series of statements. There is hope for the mentally ill! The DR in my name doesn't stand for Doctor. I usually poop once a day. D~ cracking up me! |

I'm not precisely sure what the OP is on about but I suspect I agree with his sentiments. |

If I understand correctly, JW is complaining about the recent railing against liberals (go check the obit board). It happens both ways, lots of negative waves were thrown out at the last administration and of people of that persuasion who had passed on. Recent events have increased anti-liberal rhetoric. |

Think of it this way: everything GWB did that people who like FDR didn't like; FDR did ten times worse. -Kle. |

this probably should be posted at the Blue Fez
Ranting about FDR falls under historical discussion rather than current affairs, I would think. |

Well it IS the "Ranting" board
You don't espect EVERYTHING here to be lucid and/or deliberate do you? I hope the original poster finds some peace with this 70-year old(ish) "problem". |
