Disclaimer: I had a burrito for lunch yesterday…

Okay, so this is a follow up to yesterday's adventure: TMP link

So this morning comes around and we are told…
"ummm…folks…we are happy you are staying here to help us out, but there aren't enough of you here. So we are going to try to hire some temps/more contractors to come and work the helpdesk for the next six weeks…"

Now that is all good and proper, but to add insult to injury now, they have SPECIFICALLY asked the hiring sources to contact FORMER HELPDESK EMPLOYEES THAT HAVE ALREADY LEFT HERE due to the outsourcing.

Seems that they "don't want to have to take the time to train" new folks and then only have them for 4 weeks…so they are trying to get the folks that walked on the 7th of August to come back and work as temps until the end…

This is just getting more ludicrous…and sad….

Submitted respectfully;
Murphy

If I were one that walked out and got a call to come back, they would definitely have to fork over more cash than what I was making!

Don't let them rip you off for staying.

Would the temps (and for you, for that matter) get the insurance benefits and whatever else was part of the original full-time hiring package? Or is this just a cash deal?

Disclaimer: I like your disclaimers just as much as your office stories.

If you haven't yet, track down a movie called Outsourced (from 2006, it looks like there's a couple of them). It's a bit of a chick-flik, & a bit of a self-exploration travel log, but it's also pretty funny.

SO MUCH truth in this. Make sure that if ANY one that left comes back you know what they are making. and make sure you are making at least as much as they are.

You should have advantage of position, and more knowledge of the issues that are current

A ditto for Outsourced. A charming film.
