A monetary amount charged for an item is not a price point, it is a price.

A monetary amount charged for an item at which demand for that item remains relatively high is a price point.

Please stop using price point when you mean price.

Not a very verbose rant, nor amusing, but hopefully folks will accept this "Unwelcome Education" and think a little bit before posting.

Thank you for your time.

Thank you! Quite a few folks have been displaying their lack of knowledge on this particular "point" lately.

I think perhaps people ARE using it correctly…

Especially when they talk about pricing in general as opposed to specific product announcements (in which case I agree).

If there is a discussion on the price of a new product, the Price Point become very relevant.
Used as part of a pricing gripe post it makes sense. See any of the GW posts for examples…

Is $99 USD the correct Price Point for Space Hulk?
Depends on their sales forecast versus actual sales.
Time will tell.

I agree entirely. That and using the expression "story arc" when "story line" should suffice.

Amend the statement to "some people are using it correctly," and I will agree.

Plenty of others use it incorrectly.

Priceless. Perhaps pointless. Price-pointless? Perfect.

OK, you've solved that issue. Now what are you going to do about middle aged men wearing their baseball caps backwards.
