The fool, he's dooming us all! Six foot tall "chickens" is ALL we need. Velociraptor, anyone?…

Jack Horner is pretty darned optimistic about the whole activating the latent chicken genepool, even to the point of providing money from his own pocket to fund writing grants as well a some actual research.

Of course they insist that all such mutated embryos will be destroyed before hatching …

I keep wondering why thy don't go for easier targets like Mammoths. We have well preserved mammoth genetic material and an embryo should be able to come to term in an Elephant

Oh gawd. Hope he's not getting any government or public funding for this farce. laugh

Mammals are really hard to clone due to genetic imprinting. Reptiles are potentially much easier.

It's really a defence research project for the Royal Candian Regiment (whose initials stand for "run chicken, run!" – oh lord, someone will kill this RCD for that one grin). An attempt to make superior fighting machines, combining the strength and intelligence of human kind into chickens which will secretly be released into Pakistan to track down the bad muslim guy.

No one can say Canada is not pulling its weight…

I believe they've already successfully demonstrated they can give a chicken embyro a lizard-like tail, and teeth…

Please. Our food is adulterated enough already.

I wrote a story about exactly that in college. But they were regressing ostriches (bigger eggs). The resulting raptor-like dinosaurs ate a chicken farm.

It was a comedy.

Giant chickens, great – as long as they don't change the taste.
