It is a decent book, but I was not amazed. Some of the ideas presented were great though. I forget, do the zombie animals talk? I know that the rotten zombie birds being good fliers was a bit of a turn off.

I started the first few chapters of the second book (City of the Dead), but didn't continue with it.

If people can buy the idea of zombies walking and running why is the idea of zombie birds flying so unbelievable?

Or is it the aerodynamics of the rotting wings?
I've seen some alley pidgeons downtown that could be taken for undead that seemed to fly just fine.

First book was cool and had some interesting twists. Did actually read the second, but found it a little boring and tedious and almost rushed towards the end.

This one is easy to find, too. B&N has it for $7. USD
I was just there two days ago and missed it!
