Back in high school, I worked at a department store and took a bad check. I asked for her ID and she gave me hers, which had a different name than on the check. I asked her about it and she said her name changed because she was recently married. I wrote her name and DL# on the check. She apparently stole them and was prosecuted for it. Never knew what happened after that. I was chewed out for taking the check, but honestly I was young and inexperienced, and this woman looked like a soccer mom and not a thief.
