We have a new kitten in the house – after having him for all-day visits a couple of times a week, he's finally moved in with us. The resident two are managing well – Charles, always bomb-proof in the face of new experiences, and having broken in one Little Brother before, is starting to train him, Shiloh, the Shrinking Violet of the Maine Coon world, is wary, but tolerant (and occasionally confuses him by lying down and looing winsome – because he is, after all, a Male
). Tonight's his first night away from home and so far, he's letting out heart-rending litle wails regularly. We hope this will stop soon! But we love him to bits and so long as he remembers to come to us for reassurance, I'm sure all will be well. His name is Chandi – from his full name, Xanadu – and we have loved him since we saw him being born, 6 months ago. Pics (the ones in the red harness were taken today) - link Sue K.

Poor fellow, hope he settles in soon. Our Sable cried the first few nights with us. |

Beautiful cat ! I don't know if it is an attribute of the breed, but our Maine Coon just has to be within 'touch reach' all the time, unless she's sleeping ! She's perched next to the 'puter as I type, and the dog is asleep right at her feet ! |

Thanks for all the nice comments, I'll pass them on to the lad! Tonight's quite different from last night. Our computer room's an ex-bedroom, small, with a deep window-ledge. Tonight, Shiloh and Chandi are both watching moths on the window-ledge and Charles is dozing in the tall cat-stand right in front of them. I'd say Chandi has settled in! |
