"Well obviously I hit him [another prisoner] back." He can't understand why he didn't get parole. |

I found that turning to the empty corner over my right shoulder and yelling at it; "I told you to shut up!" wasn't very helpful either. D~ |

'How else am I meant to smuggle it in..' That probably doesn't help much either. |

"Well obviously I hit him [another prisoner] back."He can't understand why he didn't get parole. While I think the entire concept of parole is imbecilic beyond belief, hitting someone back seems a perfectly reasonable response. -Kle. |

Kle- the difference is that this lad is an Indeterminate sentence. He stays inside until the parole board think he is safe(r) to let out, and will then be on a MINIMUM 10 year licence. He's already 2 years past tariff. Hitting back is a failure to control emotions, and while he has the attitude that to back off is a sign of weakness, he aint safe. |

"I'm gonna git you, sucka!" That just might be taken the wrong way. |

Hitting back is a failure to control emotions, and while he has the attitude that to back off is a sign of weakness, he aint safe. Are you sure it isn't a sign of not wanting to be beaten to death? If I'm walking up the street, and someone attacks me, what am I supposed to think – " I'm sure this guy must have a logical reason for his actions, the civilized thing would be to co-operate with my deserved beating." ? -Kle. |
| Thomas Nissvik | 17 Jul 2009 12:35 p.m. PST |
All depends on what kind of attack, was there more punishment coming, could the guy just step back and have staff intervene? No, I've thought about it. If he had started "While defending myself
" he might have been in the clear. |

Its the difference between self defence and retaliation. |

And if anyone wants an exercise in Cultural Differences or Prejudice, your choice, try to guess what nationalities Kle and Hussar are, based on their posts here. |

Its the difference between self defence and retaliation. I can see how it might be, depending upon the context. There's no context whatsoever in your original post. -Kle. |

try to guess what nationalities Kle and Hussar are, based on their posts here. Considering the demographics here, it's probably a slam dunk (I haven't looked yet, though). In some sort of forum with more equal world participation, it might be harder to guess. -Kle. |
