From Flower to Sapling?

Can a plastic flower become a wargaming shrub? Or maybe a small tree?

My wife has informed me that my son (your future world overlord) and myself will be doing a whirlwind tour of new bases of operatio… I mean potential universities the first week of August.

Her ex-boss (a gamer) has offered to chauffeur us from DC to Lehigh (in PA), to Columbia, Cornell and Coopers Union in New York and possibly down to Harvard as we attempt to see which educational establishment best suits my son's nefarious purpos.. I mean, which one is the best match.

Sadly, given the somewhat frenetic nature of the trip, I have doubts as to whether I can meet up with anyone on TMP unless they happen to be conveniently located along the route and available for lunch. Given his proximity, I might be able to say "hi" to Gallowglass so it won't be a total loss.

Well if you find yourself stopping to see the Spy Museum during the work week, it's at 9th and F and I work at 7th and F, I'd be glad to meet you for lunch--you gotta eat!

He's looking at architecture and international relations, believe it or not. I'd love for him to go for architectural engineering as that's where the money is – and he's got the head for mathematics to make it work.

Later in the month, we're hitting UCLA and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo which is the 3rd ranked architecture school.

It may boil down to a money chase given that he'll be starting (in theory) as a second semester sophomore given his AP test scores and a 2140 SAT.

Harvard actually has an Art/Architecture/History degree that looked appealing, but they offer zero studio/design time to undergrads. He's been interning with a friend at a landscape architect business and they've been giving him real-world work. Amazingly, that hasn't scared him off.

DRD – I'll be coming out of Leesburg so I'll be going right past your house, I suspect.

I'll be able to make plans once I know my schedule.

So I'm guessing this means his re-education camps will have a nice aesthetic feel?

As a future resident, that's good to know. Keep us updated.

Guiscard, its a bit early, but Happiness Camp #1 is currently being prepared for future occupation at an indeterminate date. link

I see on your application that you claim to have prior experience…

Will that be chanting or the non-chanting section?

Non-Chanting please. The voices in my head are loud enough.

Nice location, So-Cal is so pleasant this time of year.
