This guy auction is using my painting to sell his unpainted figures. I'm flattered, I guess, but I really prefer that other people don't use my work.

Beyond shooting the guy an email through eBay, is there anything else I should do about it? Will eBay pull stuff like this from a listing?

Ebay should. If you took the picture you own the rights to the picture. He may not use it, copy it, or anything else without your permission.

I think there's a specific rule that the ebay seller's can't use other peoples pictures. So, send an email to ebay.

Just shoot him. wink

Try eBay's Vero program. It might be more work than it's worth, however.

Ebay WILL pull auctions rather hastily if someone claims a copyright infringement. I suspect the fact that you'll have the photo without the camera icon in it is enough to prove it.

Down at the bottom is a "report this item" button.

Make it so.

I'd not even seen it if you hadn't said it was on there.

I see the item has bids, so not sure if he can edit the pictures now or not.

Since its the second pic I dobt many people are looking at it anyway. I'd just e-mail him and ask him not to use your pics again.

The seller also says that the Rarity is "OOP", which is a mis-statement.

At least he isn't selling *painted* minis using your picture.

Report to Ebay. If everyone does this then it helps to stop the problem in the future. Or sent an invoice to the seller as a licence fee for using your picture.

Second pic is what they can look like once painted.

I think you should have it pulled for needlessly raising expectations…

At two bids, it sure would be nice if you could get something out of this, scomac. A nice little percentage of the final price would suffice, I'd say. grin

Well, I complained to eBay, but they never did take down the picture. I did get a note from the seller, who thought it was "good for the hobby" that we all share our images.

If he uses any of our IP without consent, I will remind him how good it is by sending him a bill
