Someone has amassed a full set of the Grenadier Dragon Lords figures – all 13 including the bonus dragon.

auction

While I could accept the concept of charging a bit more because of the time, effort, age and completion of the set, $153.85 USD per miniature is perhaps a tad excessive, no? Especially considering that one can get the individuals for about $25-50.

Just because the seller is asking $2,000 doesn't mean the seller is going to receive $2,000. These figures show up frequently on eBay, and while collectible there are enough of them that they don't command the type of price this seller is dreaming of (unless the price has really climbed while I wasn't looking).

I picked up a bunch of these not too long ago for about $8-12 each, but they were missing the gems.

"Collectors" ruin things for everybody. They are setting the price now.
I bet they keep them in the boxes, and never assemble or paint them.

Damn. Those are some of the coolest dragons ever made (in my opinion), but that price is ridiculous.

Too bad… I'd love to get ahold of the ones I don't have.

Keep an eye on Noble Knight games and places like that. If you don't have your heart set on the 'gems' they come up from time to time.

And to think I looked at the gem and pedestal that came with my brand new Black Dragon, lo these many years ago, and wondered "What am I supposed to do with these?"

He's a really nice dragon. Still have him, though he's not great for RPG use since his wings are huge and low, blocking out his flanks utterly. Good tactics for a real dragon, poor posing choice for a metal one.

Right On !

And they don't punch the carcboard counters for their game collections either. What is wrong with these people ? What use is a game that nevr gets played ? (I have some games I haven't played, but I fully intend to play them, if I was just collecting them I'd deserve a kick in the butt)
