I am somewhere between totally annoyed and ready to sit down and cry. Mongols, Mongols everywhere! What is the best way to deal with these guys? In my current game I wiped them out twice just to watch them re propagate and come storming back. So the third time around I let them take Antioch and then wiped them out but if you do this they magically pop out of the city and start rampaging around the map. So I let them have Antioch again -- which proved to be a bit of a mistake as they morphed into multiple armies. So once again I all but stomped them out leaving them with three rather small armies that travel about (shadowed by one of my big armies) but only attack troops outside cities. Is there no way to get rid of these pests? mjc |

I hope because I'm just now loading the game onto my computer for the first time! Didn't realize the Mongols would be so difficult. |

Well near as I can tell, the Mongols are like a bad dream -- they just won't go away. If you wipe them out before they establish a homeland, they propagate 5 armies the next turn. If you wipe out their last city after they establish a home land they pump out two full armies next to the last city. So . . . sad as it may seem, the strategy is: No home land -- do not kill that last army -- unless they propagate 5 new armies -- if that happens go ahead and kill it as it won't make things worse. If they do establish a homeland. Let them conquer a nuthin town, kill every Mongol outside the town and use spies to raise whatever problems you can think of. Do not assassinate the last leader or . . . you guessed it. More Mongols than you ever wanted. mjc |
