"Aperture Laboratories" is the setting of the game "Portal" a first-person puzzle game. Throughout the game, the computer controlling the increasingly lethal test promises cake to the participant. link And then, there's the meme/reputation of white vans being somewhat sinister in intent (I think this is mostly a UK thing). White vans aren't sinister in the UK -- they are more associated with builders, delivery drivers etc. Usually driven while on the mobile, eating a sandwich, drinking tea, and with scant regard for other road users. White Van Man is an urban phenomenon. |

Yeah, nothing sinister about 'white van man'. Fuelled by tea and 'page three'. Guaranteed to cut you up and they won't care about another little ding in the bodywork! |
