I finally am able to write about my latest stay in the local hospital. way back on May 29th I developed a pain in my right leg and by next morning both it and my foot were beet red. I went to my ER and fortunately the attending physician took one look at it and immedietely began IV antibiotics and admitted me. After a few days my leg got better and was allowed to go home the following Wednesday. Unfortunately my right leg and foot started getting red again and I had do go back to the ER again. They gave me IV's again and the redness and swelling went down again. My podiatrist ordered a CAT scan and found the source of the infection. I have a bone infection in my heel bone. Their is 1cm x 2cm abcess that may have to be removed sugically. Fortunately it seems I'm responding positively to the IV antibiotics. So after spending another two weeks in convalescence and having a central line placed in my chest I am now home taking my IV's. I will be on the IV's for the next eight weeks and hopefully this will kill the nasty little nurgling. Happily I am now able to resume my life. So I ask you my fellow TMPer's to put in a good word for me to the good guy upstairs. Thanks, god bless, and Salut y'all! Bruce the Texas Grognard |

you are obviously being punished for something wrong you did. Unpainted minis? Not enough praise and homage to the memory of Tom Landry? Eating salsa made in New York City!? Glad to see you're gonna be ok, though. |

Yep, that last one is a sure-fire way to get sick. Hope you're back on your feet, both literally and figuratively, soon compadre. We need to keep the ranks of Texas grognards intact. |

Bruce, Glad to see you are feeling better, but please take good care of yourself! That is some serious stuff. Surgery for any kind of abcess can result in dangerous clots. So let's hope it doesn't get to that, or else you will have to be on blood thinners on top of a lot of antibiotics, not to mention a lot of down time. Our prayers are with you. Stay strong. Dan |

I hope everything turns out well for you. I had a friend who almost lost his leg due to a serious infection from a dog bite. The Doc told him that if he had waited one more day they would have had to amputate. Scary stuff those super infections. |
