I kid you not. The top sign, not photoshopped. link Snapped on my cellphone on a recent visit to Bangkok. And no, I didn't eat there. I don't like cabbages. Amex welcome however. |

That one has made it to the Food Network, as I recall. |

Yep, that's mighty unappetizing
and reminds me of an incident here involving an angry line cook and a caesar salad

I would happily eat there: link |

Thanks Allen. I didn't realise they had a website, and didn't know the story behind it either. The food does look good and I would eat there. Unsurprisingly there is a lot of good Thai food In Thailand. Though there is also some that's not so good. The best meals we had were at the worst hotel – the lizards in the bathroom place that's featured later in the photo stream. It was a small, family-run set of bungalows with not-very-clean rooms, and inadequate air-con. But the mother did all the cooking and it was wonderful. You had to wait about 45 minutes for anything as she made it all fresh from scratch when you ordered it. But it was worth the wait and the beers were cold. It was pretty much just genuine Thai home cooking. Easily the best Tom Yum soup I've every had. We moved out after one night because of the dodgy rooms, air con and bathrooms, but kept going back to eat. Dang
that menu does look good. Now I'm sorry I didn't eat there. 200 baht is about $US6 btw.

"But the mother did all the cooking
" = "It was pretty much just genuine Thai home cooking." Finest kind! Sounds like you had an absolute winner there! Akkeb |

Oh yeah. I'll be going back there. I have only just discovered how cheap and easy it is to get off this tedious rock and get to some more interesting parts of Asia. Bangkok Air flies direct to Samui from Changi from about $US120 return. Add a short ferry ride to Koh Phangang and I can be out of Disneyland with a death penalty and into laid back paradise inside of about 3 hours. That's worth it even for a long weekend. |

Actually, I rather liked the name "Cabbages and Condoms" before I went to Allen's link. Knowing the back story makes it even more appealing. The condom art in the gift shop looks amusing. If I ever get to Thailand

The worst I encountered in the Netherlands was a snackbar bearing the name of the owner, Braakhuis. While in the past it may have meant something like "house at a clearing" or near a brook, nowadays it just means "House of Vomit." I skipped it. |

I enjoyed this line on the restaurant web site: "We also provide catering services of all requirements. And remember, our food is guaranteed not to cause pregnancy." |

So no aphrodisiacs, then? |

Superiority strikes again. Yes, Thai cooking is wonderful. Glad there are people here who are so knowledgable about everything to keep all of us pleebs in line. Heaven forbid a topic goes by without certain opinions reminding us to keep an open mind. The name is ridiculous, and that is the point right? |

Well, I hear that the food's a tad 'rubber-y'

Aphrodisiacs don't cause pregnancies, people cause pregnancies

I always found "Crusty's Pizza" unappetizing. "Bunboy" incites a negative reaction with me as well

On the highway between Katowice and Mikolow, here in Poland, there sat 'Boner Bar' – I kid you not. I picked up a couple of menus from the place and snapped a few pics with the old camera. I would say that the food would cause pregnancies! |

'Have I got News for You' featured a 'Hitler Restaurent(!) and a Polonium Restaurant, which got little custom after the Russian assassination. Can't find a You Tube link |
