So, I buy an Xbox 360 on eBay. Get a wicked deal, it comes with the current favorite game in the platoon, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, single controller, video cable, power supply, etc.

Mail normally takes at least 2 weeks to get out here. That's just how it is. Sometimes, I've been lucky and gotten something in as little 10 days, one freakish occurrence, i got something in 5. Long story short, this thing doesn't come for a month. Even worse, it shows up the day after I leave for mid-tour R&R. Not the seller's fault, granted.

However, what is the seller's fault is he didn't include a standard definition component AV cable. There's an HD cable, a nice one seeing it's Monster brand and they make nice cables. The listing specifically stated a component/HD AV cable would be included.

Also, the controller was sent with an aftermarket rechargeable battery pack. With no charger. Grrr.

I was able to borrow a cable and controller for a little bit to make sure the damn thing works. It does (the drive tray is a little squiffy, though). At least it didn't have the red ring of death as I had feared it might.

As I am at a smaller camp without a PX, I am unable to simply saunter down and get a cable and controller. Good news is there's a guy from our camp who is temporarily at another camp with a PX and should be able to pick up the desired items and return with them in about 4 days or so.

I've sent the seller a message. I don't expect a reply, based on previous correspondence (or lack thereof).

Still, I feel like the kid at Christmas whose folks won't let him play with his toys until after they get back from grandma's after New Year's.

Harrumpf. Gripe over.

Fair reason to rant I'd say. A rechargeable battery but no charger? Thats like a solar hot water system with no solar panels…..

I've not had too much bad luck on Evil Bay but I did once buy some figures that were painted "similar to the ones in this photo but different facings". Hmm different facings was an understatement; they looked like they'd been painted by Gollum. I cut my losses and melted 'em….

Figures or the paint? Bit extreme to destroy the figures when Pine Sol or Simple Green will strip 'em clean.

I suppose, but I just thought it was too daunting a task (It was pretty ordinary and I don't rate my skills in comparison. The cost wasn't too high to dump them and the metal became something else I wanted so in a round about way I got something out of it…..:)
