"Kids/Happy Meal Toy Distribution?" Topic

I'm trying to track down the new McDonald's Easter Island head toy that comes with the Night at the Museum kids meals. But so far every site has had a different toy, none of which are the Easter Island head. So does anyone know how McD's does they toy distribution?

Do all stores get the same toy at the same time, so if you've missed it at one store, you probably won't get it at another store? Or do the stores each get a different toy at the same time, so you just have to keep hunting to find the one that had the toy you want that week?

Do they have a specific timeframe they sell it in, like 1 toy/week? Or do they just sell a specific toy until they're sold out & then move to the next one whenever that is?

What do they do with any of the left over toys?

I have found that if you ask the manager they might be able to help you out on missing ones. At the McDonalds we frequent they have always been more than happy to help out.

I think they're supposed to be one or two a week, but if they run out they advance to the next week's selections. I've been to McDonald's stores in the past that have totally run out of popular promotions before the end of the month and so they pull up some really old leftover promotions they still had stashed in the basement, or else some old generic toys.

I just sweet talk the girl behind the counter, they are usually pretty cool and will give ya whatever you want if they have it. I had one kid offer to call another location to see if they still had the one I wanted. To save time just call a couple of places and ask. Good luck!
