If I end up in Abu Dhabi for a while, will I find any wargaming clubs or shops there? I'm hoping there's enough of an expat community that there might possibly, just possibly, be something …

art representing/recreating God's creations are forbidden in Muslim contries. Playing with little men will definately be frowned upon.
try backgammon but watch your opponent.. cheating is an art form unto itself.

I have to point out that the prohibition is only against living creatures of God. Art representing landscapes, plants, non-living items are okay. So you can have a painting of a landscape, but paint an animal into it and you are in trouble.

My question is, does this cover imaginary creatures as well? Unicorns don't exist, they are not God's creation, so are they prohibited? And if imaginary creatures are prohibited, what is the argument for this?

I am not trying to be insulting, I am actually curious about the subject. Anybody know anything about this one?

Depends on the country…
Playing with little men will definately be frowned upon.

Pretty much frowned upon anywhere…laugh
Kids play with action figures, so the idea of miniatures being taboo isn't true, unless it's a fundamentalist state.
