OK. I don't understand "sweet 16 parties" or quinceañeras.

Let alone having one fer $150,000 USD !!! And now she is whining about it not being able to have it filmed by MTV? Quick, break out the world's tiniest violin out. Boo Hoo. And she look sooooo sad about it. sniff sniff.

Talk about your attention grabbers (not the word I would have used, but I thought the Bleet-o-matic would get me…)

I can think of lots of things I would rather spend $150k on, like college tuition for my daughter, and a savings bond, feeding the homeless. Maybe buying a new GW army (you will need the 150k…)wink

People like this girl drives me nuts…

I find it disgusting that spoiled rich people are not able to get whatever they want. Why have money, then?

Personal logo John the OFM Supporting Member of TMP11 May 2009 2:21 p.m. PST

Seriously, yhough, it IS their money, not mine. Sure, I could find a better use for it, but it's not mine, so I won't lose any sleep over it.

CPT Jake11 May 2009 2:26 p.m. PST

Hooah. If yo have it, spend it on what you like. If I had that much extra I'd probably have another 3 or 4 motorcycles, which would be a total waste but would make me happy.

Connard Sage11 May 2009 2:29 p.m. PST

I'd have another 10. And a bigger garage to keep them in :0)

richarDISNEY11 May 2009 2:50 p.m. PST

I am surprised Disney said no to the filming. Good fer them!

Though, they did do that crazy $500 USD a ticket 'Sweeet 16' thing fer Hanna Montana last year… I can post pics if you like ( I was there earlier in the day before the event but the stuff was all set up, too off and saw the band JAMES at the House of Blues on the same night…)

Not as much as the divorce.

It is sad that her mother is making such a big fuss for her quinceanera. Glad I don't have that one in my classes; she's probably spoiled rotten and will have a severely inflated sense of her own worth.

The ones whose parents are only spending 3K on a party are bad enough.

Their incredulous yet predictable "sob story" doesn't merit any opinion from me, as my sense of values and worth runs much deeper than theirs.

quinceanera

For us podunk educated backwoods hicks from the sticks this is our new word for the day… use it people or we'll forget it like everything else…

:^)

Krueger said she's still going to have the party at Disneyland. She said she'll be wearing a Cinderella-type dress, and she'll emerge from an ornate carriage, as well as sing a quinceañera song.

This line in the article stood out for me.
Wonder how long the cat strangling will last?!

CPT Jake12 May 2009 2:35 a.m. PST

I feel bad and sad. I do not even know a quinceañera song…

Lentulus12 May 2009 4:30 a.m. PST

"Sure, I could find a better use for it"

So could just about anyone; but on the bright side $150K is now in the hands of people who are now busy finding that better use.

Also keep in mind: Luxury is anything someone else consumes and I do not.

MTV, teenagers, rich snobs that expect to get anything they want…Disney did the smart thing denying the taping.

Cher Ami12 May 2009 1:53 p.m. PST

Took two indulgent parents to create this girl

Daffy Doug21 May 2009 9:24 a.m. PST

Yep, spreading around the wealth: always a good idea. I think those parents are just plain wonderful US citizens, blowing such a wad and helping out the CA economy. Now, how to shape up their stoopid whiny daughter, that's another issue altogether.

Our neighbors, fresh from Mexico, spent thousands on their daughter for her 15th Bday: I am just waiting for one of my daughters to suggest that SHE ought to have a fancy Bday party when she turns 15 or 16, too. Boy, will I enjoy explaining how the wind blows around our house to her! (that's sarcasm, btw)

Mardaddy21 May 2009 6:37 p.m. PST

"Who is Disney to say, ‘No,' because we're paying them,"

"I really want Disney to see the stress they caused. All my life I wanted to have a big quince…"

What is this? ***I exist, therefore cater to my every whim***

This girl thinks she's a housecat or what?
