It's just another ridiculous euphemism, like Police Action. Keeping things apolitical, I also never liked the phrase War on Terror (or for that matter War on Poverty or War on Drugs). Terror, Poverty, and Drugs are not nations or groups that can be defeated militarily. |

Like "Terrorist suspect"- immediately conjures a terrorist who is a suspect. Careful, and non partisan, use would be "suspected of terrorism". |
