Apparently GIVE ME BACK MY LEGIONS is out and is a historical novel instead of an alt history on the Teutoburgerwald. Any one seen or read it? |

I haven't seen it and I was in the book store Saturday. Does it come out today? Time to check the B&N website. |

Turtledove disappoints. It would take a crackerjack novel to win back my interest

I read Fort Pillow. I'm not an expert on the Civil War or that particular battle, but he seems to have gotten the history correct according to a friend who is expert on the period. It is a "historical" novel of course, so imparting words to historical figures in the novel that aren't supported by any source are always suspect. |

I liked a lot of his early stuff, but have not cared for the Alt History stuff, which he has been doing for ages now. Maybe I'll try some of his straight historical fiction. Give Me Back My Legions is out; I saw it yesterday while tagging along behind Neotacha in her quest to find a copy of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. |
