My local library has a very good to excellent copy of Kinky Friedman's novel 'God Bless John Wayne' on sale for $2.00. Seeing him on Fox News in the past, he seems to be a fairly enjoyable original character (not to mention a fellow Texan), and I'm wondering if I should spend the cash (i.e., will I enjoy the novel?)?

Thank you.

I read one of them awhile back – something about a private detective and a lesbian… I remember enjoying it, but nothing about it stuck with me, I don't remember much about the book other than that I liked it.

Good light brain candy, I think.

I am not going to take on the heavy responsibility of telling you how to spend $2.00, but the ones I have read, I enjoy.

Thanks for the link, John, and thanks to y'all for "yer" response! I think I'll go pick it up tomorrow and read it over the weekend.

I like his novels. His character, "Kinky Friedman" is pretty likable and has a vocabulary all his own, calling telephones blowers and bathrooms dumpers, for example.

Good reads. Worth two bucks, certainly.
