My cholesterol level went up just looking at the picture . The article sums it up with some interesting background.

It says that no one has actually finished one but has anyone tried one?

Maybe I should try one while I'm still in Toledo. It is probably a hike to that stadium but not as far as from Western, PA.

Still I bet I could make one like that myself.

Well, so long as it has lettuce and tomato on it, it's not all bad. evil grin

I'd probably make an attempt to tackle it once, just to say I did, and leave it at that. In addition, I could also make something like that, but on a much smaller (and digestable) scale.

Put a little oat bran in the bun, and it should be OK.

The problem with something that big is that pretty soon you are eating a cold one.

Nothing that a small chaffing dish and a can of Sterno can't fix, John. evil grin

That could do it, Flintloque, but I have a question for everyone, though. What's the big deal about topping a massive sandwich with a fried egg?

I was watching Anthony Bourdain one evening (my brother got me into watching him), and one program showed him carting around Chicago. In it, one restaurant featured a megasandwich that was stuffed with meat, melted cheese, some other stuff, and topped with a fried egg.

So, what gives with that?

Is it sponsored by the Darwin awards?

Although these creations are called "sandwiches" they are impossible to heat by hand so I guess by putting a fied ag on top the bursting yolk not only helps to five flavour and soften the bread topping it also encorages eaters to use a knife and fork.
