A mate of mine is flying to Manchester tomorrow for a football game. He will be staying on 96 Portland Street, the Ibis Hotel. Can anyone suggest any good places for a meal or a pint within walking distance? It's his first time in Manchester so it needs to be decently close and easy to find. |

Just be sure to remind him that Manchester rhymes with Glouchester or they'll think he's a looney. |

Best place to eat near manchester is Leeds. I will tell t'missus to stick an extra tray of Yorkshire Puds in and put t'kettle on. Pat |

doubt it'll matter much, it may be his first visit, but once you've been there once you won't want to go back! |

Ed, the one the rest of the world means when they say Manchester, to look at what the rest of the world means when they say football. ;-) |
