That's what the fine for $32 USD will cover. |

There's no way the guy is still alive. The math just doesn't work out unless he's managed to live to be over 100. 1928
a check for $30 USD (estimated $180 USD in today's dollars) probably written when in mid 20's, say 24, making his birth year 1904, serving in 2009 = 105 years old. Common sense has left the galaxy folks
come back next year when we arrest bigfoot for jay walking. |

Hey, Bigfoot should be treated just like everyone else under the law. He jaywalks, he's off to the slammer. No exceptions for big, hairy, fantasy critters. |
| highlandcatfrog | 01 Mar 2009 4:51 p.m. PST |
I thought they were bringing charges against Bigfoot for mopery. |

Amazing. The statute of limitation for passing a bad check in Tennessee is apparantly longer than for committing a rape. PDF link |

A Georgia sheriff's department mailed it to the Tennessee sheriff's department, which has to treat it as a valid warrant. The Georgia sheriff should have checked with the local DA first, who would probably have told him not to bother. Come to think of it, the Tennessee sherrif should have done the same thing. |

I can see it now. A tombstone with a writ or summons to appear super-glued to it. Then they arrest the process server for defacing a monument/grave

If we allow 105 year old check bouncers to get away with it, what's next? Things have come to a pretty pass when he has been allowed to taunt the Law for so long. Lock him up! |
| The Hobbybox | 02 Mar 2009 2:15 a.m. PST |
The arm of the law is long, although not necessarily smart! |
| Ed Mohrmann | 02 Mar 2009 4:04 a.m. PST |
Highlandcatfrog: 'Mopery' is actually just a misdemeanor offense. It's the '..with intent to gawk' that raises it to the level of a felony
