You know
on a lazy quiet Saturday like today, sometimes there is simply NOTHING finer, than a well made Ham and Chesse Sandwich, with a bag of Lays Chips and a Pepsi
Simple and good
mmmmm |

But that raises as many questions as it answers! Which cheese? Thick or thinly sliced ham? What kind of bread? Are there condiments on this sandwich? What about the pudding? |

A simple replacement of most other chips for the Lays would improve it immensely. |

Ha! I had the same craving last night at around 11:00p.m. I made two mini ham & cheezez using "King's Hawaiian" sweet rolls. Did I mention I had some beer to wash 'em down too. |

@ Murphy. I hear your cry for simplicity and I endorse it. Soon someone will drop into this thread to extoll the virtues of some little known condiment or exotic spice he picks up at the local farmer's market from a native gourmet who fled his war torn country with the last half pound of the stuff and which he will only sell to him : a fellow gourmand. Yep a simple sandwich, Pepsi and chips sounds pretty good. |

I was about to correct raducci for the incorrect use of gourmand, and discovered that the meaning has shifted, and raducci was correct. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gourmand This is most sad, as I can no longer describe my Ham and Cheese eating habits as gourmand, and must use the far less opaque term of glutton! (P.S. The bread must be fresh baked, the ham off the bone (sliced thick), and the cheese from king island. For desert repeat the above. |

Mmmm king island cheese (or any food from King island for that matter) |

Please feel free to correct any of my Englishisms as I am learned not in the language of the Queens. |

No Cheese, or No Ham. Ham, Lettuce, Mustard or Cheese and Cuecumber. |

Any Ham with any regular sandwich cheese on any bread except white – with A&W Root Beer and Fritos. Dessert is an oatmeal cookie of your choice. I prefer an Oatmeal-Butterscotch Chip, myself, but an Oatmeal-Raisin will work. |

I like to build my Ham & Cheese sandwich on a slice of pita bread: cut the bread round in half, put the ham and Swiss on one side and a smaller slice of Swiss on the other half. Then heat in a toaster oven to melt the cheese, slap the two halves together and you end up with a great melt. |

Hot ham and rolls on Sundays is a tradition in my hometown. Almost all local grocery stores sell it. The King Hawaiian rolls sound like and outstanding idea! |
