Tomorrow morning, I'm hitting the road to visit some friends up in Sacramento. Based on previous experience, this'll take me about 10 hours of driving – followed by the same on the way back home. They've asked me to help clear their garage of some vintage (unbuilt) plastic models so it'll be interesting to see what (and how much) comes back with me. Oh yes, I'll also be picking up my PanzerGrenadiers so I'm looking forward to basing up about a hundred figures for FoW. Wyatt |

Swing by Viking in Carmichael (if it is still there). Just because (nice shop, nice lady that runs it) |

It shouldn't take you that long, Wyatt. It's about seven hours from here, not counting stops. You haven't got that much farther to go, although you do have to get through the sprawl and up the Grapevine. Allen |

Well, because it's just me going, I might actually be able to make it in 8. My calibration is off because the last time we (as a family) went, it was 10 hours. And before that, I was making semi-annual drives to 'Frisco, but I was starting out of the OC. I should see if Maksim is going to be about. Wyatt |

That's them, though they are actually just east of that intersection and on the north side of El Camino. Hole in the wall store with its own parking

Shoot, I'd say "drop on by" except we're heading over to Mountain View today. |

Too bad you're off by a week from the State's Furlough Fridays. I know a couple of TMPers that are State workers & might be available. If you're in the area around Arden Fair Mall, you could also check out the Great Escape Games store. It's a much more "mainstream" game store than Viking, with GW, FoW, PP. They're website currently seems to be down now: greatescapegames.com/, but if you're visiting Viking, GEG isn't too far off. But I'd say that Viking is more highly recommended if you had to only stop at one, mainly because it doesn't have the mainstream stuff I mentioned above, so it's not similar to a number of other stores. It does close at 5 though on Saturdays. GEG stays open until midnight I think. |
