I may have a business trip layover in England Saturday and Sunday March 7th and 8th.

Last time I ended up in London on a Thursday evening I had a very nice visit with the Exiles in London, and jumped into a WWII game.

This time I have to be in Shoreham on Monday, but no specific plans other than that.

I am considering a visit to Battle and Pevensey.

Stopping by a local shop to pick up some Gripping Beast or even some Musketeer Miniatures specifically Dark Age – early Crusade stuff. Suggestions on which shop?

Or finding a local convention or gaming event?

I plan to have a car. Any ideas or suggestions?

Battle is a good day out. The battlefield itself is still much the same as it was in 1066. Its a good walk round.

There is a new visitor centre, opened just last year, which is supposed to be good. I havn't been for a while so I've not seen the new one.

After your visit you can pop down to Hastings for fish'n'chips on the seafront……

Cerdic,
thanks for the input. I think this will be on Sunday's agenda unless something changes.

I also posted on British Wargaming to see if anything is going on. I have been to England several times so the usual London tourist thing is not that intersting, plus I prefer to do that with the wife :)

A month later, and I could hit Salute. There is an interesting tournament going on in Scotland, but a little out of the way for this trip.

Dervel,

Glad again to hear that you enjoyed your visit to the Exiles and hope that you have a good visit this time.

Hopefully any future trips can include a Thursday night so that you can visit us again.

Regards,

Ezza
