I am going to be attending a conference in Savannah GA from Thursday through the weekend. I'm staying at the Hampton Inn and Suites on 201 MLK Jr Blvd. Anything in the way of game shops or book stores in decent walking distance?

The only decent game store I know of there is Morningstar Games… a nice store but not at all in walking distance.

When I was there Savannah had a bit of a shortage on book stores, especially used book stores… there are a couple downtown but none of the ones I were in were anything to write home about.

Thanks, vb3.

The only other thread I saw here on Savannah mentioned Morningstar, but my impression was that I would not be very close.

Morningstar is excellent, but not close.

Downtown, I'd go to Bull St Station (Bull and Oglethorpe Ave) which is a nice train and art supplies place. E. Shaver books is a block or so south on – er – Chipewa or Monterrey Square, a local independent bookshop with lots of local books.

See if the Crystal Beer Parlor is open. It doesn't matter if you don't drink beer.

Oh, and go the the Ships of the Sea Museum (close to your hotel) fora collection of fantastic models of ships from 1600-present day. These are really impressive!
