My cat Rusty has always had a thing for chewing my hair. He's never hurt me, so I let him do it whenever he wants. A few hours ago I was painting some figures. My 000 brush has seen better days, so I grab a brand new, never been used one from the cat-proof storage bin I keep them in. Take the protective cap off, about to give it its inauguration, then I got distracted by something in another room. Put brush on table, go investigate. I come back 10 minutes later and see Rusty walking away from the table (and no other cats around). Pick up the brand new brush, go to get paint on it, and discover there are no bristles left on the brush. Not one. Rusty has chewed them all off, leaving only a small bite mark behind as evidence. D'oh! Well I guess I have a brand new stirring stick now, and I get to buy a new brush tomorrow. |

You'd have thought most cats would have enough trouble with the hairballs from their own fur, without having to eat paint brushes! |

Several of our cats will go for my hair after I've washed it. Don't know why. |

Maybe your shampoo? If it's some sort of herbal based one, or something, then maybe it's one of the flavours which is getting them. |

Or hubby is dosing it with catnip. |

My cat Sinbad used to "style" anyone's hair who happened to sit on the couch. He'd be on the back of the couch running his claws thur their hair, then he'd lick/chew it. Guess he was petting us in his own way. |

I use the same shampoo and conditioner that Michael does. They just don't seem all that interested in eating his hair. |
