I've just tried bidding on an eBay auction with Paypal Required message, but after hitting confirm, I'm told I've got to link my eBay and Paypal accounts. I've been Paypal verified for years, so what's with this new registration? |

Actually this is not new. You do need to link them when doing "Buy it now" and "Paypal Required" auctions. You can do it from your Paypal account: 1. Once you are logged in, on the main 'My Account' page, click the 'Profile' tab. 2. Then, under 'Selling Preferences', click on the 'Auctions' link. This page will show you any eBay accounts you currently have linked to this PayPal account. If there are no User IDs on this page, you will need to click the 'Add' button. 3. In the provided fields, enter your eBay ID and your eBay password, then click the 'Add' button. 4. Now in your 'Profile' page you will see your eBay ID added in and linked to your PayPal account. No, as I've been mostly purchasing through BIN auctions, one a few weeks ago, and I've never been required to link eBay and Paypal accounts. First time I've come across an auction with a "Paypal account reuired" notice below the price. It's like the "immediate payment required" ones, but not as much a PITA. Being as I'm Paypal verified through my Bank account, for over two years, is there a risk in linking the two? I've been entering two passwords: one for eBay and another one for Paypal, does linking mean I enter only one? Selling doesn't interest me, with the fees nowadays, so I'm just a buyer. |

Given how easy it seems to be to hack into the ebay accounts, I rather hope linking the two doesn't mean I only enter one password. |

On the eBay forums, I asked and was told that you'll still have separate passwords. |
