How can you justify $33.95 USD to post 10 dice to Australia?

auction

Mrs Pumblechook27 Jan 2009 12:58 a.m. PST

its the same price for one die

Greed perhaps, or insanity…?

Is there combined shipping for more dice and a few feathers??

Neotacha27 Jan 2009 6:42 a.m. PST

I don't justify $33 USD for shipping a few dice. If you want them that badly, Mrs. P, you can always use my address and I'll send 'em on, at actual cost.

Even paying postage in two chunks, it should be a heck of a lot cheaper!

Yet another eBay crook whose postage goes directly to profit.

Neotacha27 Jan 2009 8:21 a.m. PST

How much does the global priority box cost? Maybe that's what he's thinking?

Still, I'd be inclined to ask eBay about that as excessive postage…

I shipped some dice (6 or 7) to Singapore recently, and it cost me $2 USD or something.

This is not a problem with postage, its a people problem.

Could possibly be a typo as well.
I just made on in an auction and instead of a $9.99 USD start price it was $3,999 USD due to my fat fingers.

Thanks for the offer Tacha, but after looking at his feedback, I decided probably better I didn't.

I really love the frosted dice though, and I need to D10s for a new RPG we started (Scion)

How hard is it to buy dice?

After doing some google searching found dice were on offer through Amazon. After trying to buy them, found they didn't ship to Australia.

I thought I would buy some dice to give to my hubby for valentines day as he has bad luck with dice. I could then claim they were lucky dice cause they were given to him with love.

I think perhaps I should just give up.

I'd order straight from Chessex or one of the on line stores that stock them. At $33 USD for shipping you'll be ahead on cost.

Mrs Pumblechook, I feel your pain. There is a company working through eBay called iSoldit that has some bargain/OOP Full Thrust items I would love to bid on, but although they insist in every way that they mail worldwide, they only come as far as Australia in practical terms. Since I'm registered in New Zealand, I don't even pass 'go' to make a bid at all.

Is there some huge jump in postage rates to send stuff to New Zealand/Oceania compared to Australia? Can anyone on the board who deals with worldwide postage from the US tell us poor Third Worlders :)?
