According to the latest Call of Duty game they did – although they obviously weren't very survivable as they all seem to have been knocked out. |

ALL German tanks are Tigers. Didn't you get the memo? |

In the original Medal of Honor, German MG nests were exclusively equipped with .50 cal MGs, whereas somewhat bizarrely in Brothers in Arms, The Road to Hill 30, Pz IVDs seem to be a popular tank. |

Well, in the latest Call of Duty game, the Tokarev SVT-40 and Thompson are ubiquitous the world around. IJA, USMC, Red Army of Workers and Peasants, Wehrmacht – everyone's got 'em. Oh, and glass aperture sights were apparently common for said Thompsons and such – those lazy s at EOTech haven't had an original thought in decades, obviously. So, King Tigers at Stalingrad? Sure, why not? Attack dogs were a common weapon around the world at the time, the King Tigers were used to pull the enormous kennel trailers across the Russian steppes – haven't you seen the painting in the latest Osprey, or read the reprint of the 1945 Jane's All The World's Attack Dogs? |

I guess the Wrong Tank Syndrome dudes have given up on movies and are going after video games now. The excuse with movies is that "that's how Kids Today learn history!" I remember a video game loosely based on Midway where you refueled and rearmed your P-38 (!) by flying over a cow. So, let's not pick on video games, OK? |

I normally don't pick on video games (okay, well, I do), but this one is so egregiously bad that I can't let it alone. The only redeeming qualities of the game are that there are flamethrowers, and after you finish the single-player mode, zombies. |

And the PZIV in the Stalingrad level is painted in Dunkelgelb. But I liked the game a lot. I even have a soft spot for CoD: Finest Hour where every other German at Stalingrad has a Panzerschreck. |

Must have missed the Tigers in Stalingrad, isn't it a little further on that you and your T-34/85 company wade through what looks like a whole Abteilung of King Tiger with infantry support? The online multi-player is bad for anachronistic match ups – IJA with MP40, US with DP-28 LMG. But that's the nature of the game. My favorite 'nit' to pick are the pintle-mounted MG for the tank commander on the T-34. "What the
?" Oh, and the hull MG is a high level 'perk' you have to unlock. The Arisaka with bayonet makes for a fun evening. |

I took a 15 year-old lad to Normandy last year who genuinely believed everything he learned about WW2 from computer games. He derided the German army for issuing rifles, as 'the MP40 is much better at long range, even though it takes two shots to kill anyone'
He was quite serious
