Reenacting the Mormon Battalion's journey, some reenactors will be walking from Iowa to San Diego from July to January.

I dare say the boys in 1846 were more accustomed to walking long distances. If these folks are walking in period shoes/boots, they best harden their feet or bring an ambulance.

I have done some crazy hardcore reenacting, but this stuff takes the cake. 6 months in wool and weather walking across mountains and deserts. If only I could talk the wife into letting me go

The reenactor world takes caters for all sorts.
I wish them well as a reenactor.
That said there are certain things in history that send negative shivers down my spine – and the Mormon Battalion is one such organisation.
