Well it is official. I informed my work after five years I am going independent. I am turning over my client list (but not my assets). I plan to move in the next few weeks to North Carolina and start from scratch again. The company I have been working for as EVP I like but they will never think BIG, too much (read family) drama from within. 8 years ago I walked away from the Army after 25 plus year and encountered the un-real world of the private sector. lie, cheat, and steal as I called it several times over the past few years. Are there no honest companies out there? Now at 50 I am starting over from scratch. So networking and building a "new" business from ground zero is my mission for the near term. Wish me luck. All the best in your new venture. Not sure if the climate is right though – how 'safe' is it? |

Good Luck and Godspeed James. It amazes that some of the business out there manage to survive as long as they do. |

Good luck. There are a few companies out there who are honest and true (mainly charitable groups), so if getting paid top dollar is less of an issue then you could look in that direction. |

Wish you well in your endeavors. Too many companies lose good people thru shortsightedness. Too many idiots in charge of said companies. Good luck. |

vojvoda: Are there no honest companies out there? No, none. And darn few honest people. In general, the more people profess honesty, the more crooked they are. |

So, how was the first day of your new status? |

Not good things were perfect at home Sunday and most of Monday I was thinking how interesting things were in a new (okay old new town) location, house, the boys were/are very happy (they are 10 & 8) I have several possible (two 80% for sure) things lined up and late late last night we got a call about a death in our extended family. Wife is flying out either late tonight or early am Wednesday. Whole family is a mess. I might post a thead later just to try and sort some of this out after things quite down. We have had family in and out of our place all day. We are the default CINC HQ for now. VR James Mattes |
