Happy Solstice everyone. May the new year bring you joy and peace. |

Also my birthday – I always thought that fortune had smiled on me to give me the longest day of the year as my birthday! And today, with a beautiful summer's day, and a new swimming pool in the backyard receiving its finishing touches and looking absolutely inviting, its more perfect than ever
My poor daughter's birthday, on the other hand, is 23 June – she gets the shortest hours of daylight for her birthday. |

today, with a beautiful summer's day, and a new swimming pool in the backyard receiving its finishing touches and looking absolutely inviting, its more perfect than ever … I take pleasure in knowing that while it's -16°C (-28°C wind chill) here, that the sun is shining bright and warm on a good birthday and a swimming pool. Congrats on another year, and bask a bit more for us. |

Favorite day of the year, since it means the days start getting longer and longer (at least for those of us on the "top" half of this earth
) |
