I got Great War at Sea, Med from Avalanche Press as a present. A few questions. 1) The game has a great strategic game and counters that are near as good as minis. However, the tact game just doesn't feel enough like naval gaming. Anyone seen/made rules that punch up this part of the game without making it too long? I could use any half good minis rules, but I would like to use the wonderful counters near as is and yet would to like to finish a strategic game in my lifetime. So fast play, yet a feel of period tactics are still there. finally, the rules should be able to do WWII scenarios (i.e. aircraft) as I could see buying the interwar and WWII games in the future. 2) Any body played the game double blind? Seems like with the correct rule additions and maybe a moderator you could punch the strat game up here. |

try the new tactical rules included in the Dreadnoughts expansion they are much more tactical and they don get you out of time with the operational level. Remember that the point of GWAS is not to prpoduce a great tactical game, but an operational game. Arrigo |
