Though a little disappointing this game is much improved over the last effort from activision. The graphics of the game are very beautifully rendered with Berlin in 1945 being especially stunning. The game is split between the final months of the war on the Eastern front and those in the far east, with Pacfic Beach landings thrown in for good measure. Smoke grenades, the ability to call in air srikes and new flamethrowers are all present here, making for some rather gruesome scenes which made me question for the first time if I would let my kids plays this game. (.50 cals take charging japanease troops apart in a rather gory fashion) The graphics are the major plus point here, and the site of the japanease banzai charges can be very scary. Although the game is unfortunately, all too linear, it is less so than Call Of Duty 3, and some of the scenes allow different routes to take, which are only slightly better than those offered in previous efforts. Anyone wanting to drive a t-34 will get too do that here, though it adds little to the game but can be fun. The game, alas, offers little replay value, as where it suffers is from the supporting casting leading you through each level like a dog on a lead – 'Come on Demitri, this way, I show you
' Surely it is more fun to explore a level on your own rather than being constantly pushed on through it? Unless a game can be made along the lines of an RPG landscape, but set in World War II, then the first person WW2 game line is probably at an end, and though this game is not an entirely unbefitting closure to that, it could have been more of a satisfactory one. |

I've been playing Brother in Arms, Hells Highway. Not too bad, matter of fact, about to boot it up. A bit more first person scenarios than other versions. I still the BiA's first offering still perhaps the best, maybe half way through this one. |

I tried the CoD:WW demo, and had a hard time telling the difference between it and Modern Warfare. The idea of having attack dogs running around every so often is…odd (yeah, I know they replace the helicopter attack, but it's still strange). They put in things that I wish were in Modern Warfare; vehicles, mainly. The direct equivalence of the spotter-plane for UAV, attack dogs for helicopters and artillery for air strikes seems a bit lazy. Then again, people really like MW, so, why mess with success? (If the ing Martyrdom perk is still so easily available, I probably won't buy the game; that and the Super-Olympic Cyborg Grenade Toss were some of the things that made MW less than enjoyable for me.) And – it might have just been in the demo, but when I started out as an Imperial Japanese infantryman with an SVT-40… |

The pacific parts were ok, but I'm realy tierd of the russian thing, Never liked them, boring weapons and uniforms, and they have always been way to casual about loosing soldiers(from the medieval times) I was fun to play them in the first game, as it was new, it was ok in the second game, but this time you just had enoght of them, and the last few maps were just remakes from the first COD. it was ok, to play marines but that was all. BiA is alot better |

I don't have this game yet, but it's on my wish list. I'm really looking forward to trying the on-line co-op mode. |

Bad news for you – its still in the game. Regardless, I'm enjoying WaW, especially the on-line and on-line coop mode. If it seems like it really resembles MW, remember that its built directly on the MW engine developed at Infinity Ward. Then again, I could pick it up and play without re-learning the controller – a big plus for me! The default armament in on-line play were a bit odd. Germans with Type 99 LMG, Japanese with the SVT-40, Marines with MP-40. Less an issue with the co-op and solo campaigns as each side gets the appropirate national weapons. I'd still rather face the dogs than those pesky helicopters. |

Played it on line and it is good fun. |

I liked it too, both in online and solo play. Sure its more of the same, but its like buying an ACDC album then complaining there are no trance or happy hardcore tracks on there. |
