Hi guys, spending a week in Singapore just winding down in early November. I visited the Fort on Sentosa last time and I really just want to relax. I plan on visiting the Causeway and West Singapore where my dad was in 1942. That area is covered. So, any wargames shops, clubs, displays, places of interest I should visit? I believe Boogie St is now tourist friendly so what else is there? |

Local wargame club. napnuts.com No wargame stores I know of. Everywhere is pretty much tourist friendly. There are a couple of good museums. Boat and Clark Quay for entertainment, and shopping malls as far as the eye can see. Mind you I have only been here a few months, so am no expert. |

Hi, There are 2 wargame shops. Comicsmart which is mainly GW with a few boardgames. Not much gaming there nowadays. PI which is mainly boardgames with a fair amount of GW, Warmachine, Hordes and a few FOW packs. Using a game or 2 there on weekends. Also a number of model shops. Napnuts meets Sundays but we've been pretty quiet lately with real life getting in the way. Or if you like boardgames, games are organised via boardgames.meetup.com/21 You might be interested in Fort Canning. Underground tunnels from WW2. Family touristy maybe the Zoo and Night Safari. |

If you go to visitsingapore.com then you get a big list of 'things to see' that will help. Tripadvisor has an active set of Singapore forums to plug into (yes I scribble on it occasionally). There is a section purely for WWII sites as well. The POW chapel and museum at Changi is something I would recommend – particularly if you have a personal interest – my wife fits that bill as her grandfather was captured in Singapore and said it was a bit of a rocky ride but one that she would not have missed. FOr other stuff its harder to recommend touristy stuff unless you can give us more idea of what floats your boat. As well as recommendations above I'd add the Science Centre especially if you have kids or are remotely interested in that sort of thing – a good example of its type in my opinion (whatever thats worth as a random person on 'tinternet). I would add the note that I view the zoo as an all day trip from opening to near closing and that means that the Night Safari on the same day would be a long hard work so when I visit I keep the two to separate days. Be aware that November is the start of the rainy season so you are more likely to get heavy rains and higher possibilities of extended rainfall rather than the more common 30-45mins cloudburst. |
