… since the new landfall projections are bringing the storm closer to a more heavily populated area of Texas, nearer Galveston. We might still draw it up here to San Antonio away from yall guys, but TxDot has even canceled the "counterflow" evacuation lanes on I-37 leading out of Corpus for San Antonio.

Everyone keep your heads down over there. I pray it fizzles out to no more than a tropical storm.

My folks are supposed to fly here (Savannah, GA) from Houston, TX this Friday to watch my kids for two weeks so my wife and I can go on vacation. My Dad called last night to say he was not sure they would be able to fly Friday because they are expecting tropical storm wind speeds.

Frankly if they can't make it I don't know what I'm going to do…

If it keeps taking a more northerly track, Ike shouldn't impact the DFW Metroplex as strongly as was predicted. Still, we'll get some rain out of this.

Which means my mower will get a workout.

Hope it works out, Jake. Hopefully, if their flight on Friday is canceled, it will only be for one day.

Looks like Weavers are dodging the bullet. Good luck everyone!

We get to go home from work today at noon and obviously have tomorrow off.

Getting ready for no power for a few days.

See ya on the flip side!

Well they are still saying wind gusts of up to 50 MPH in DFW for Saturday. Hopefully it won't be too bad but I'm guessing it will be a good night to just stay home and batten down the hatches.

Sounds like it is going to be rough – good luck you guys.

Well, my folks just got official word, thier flights are canceled. I can't change our flights/hotel/tours/leave dates so I'm in Find A Babysitter Mode.
